Winter time is hardest for homeless animals, and HeightsNEXT helps by hosting a pet bed workshop. In partnership with the Columbia Heights Public Library, this is one of our most popular city-wide service projects, drawing in people of all ages.

Who
Anyone can do this! There is no sewing, just hand-tying.
When
Saturday February 21, 2026 @ 11am-2pm
Columbia Heights Public Library
3939 NE Central Ave
Columbia Heights, MN 55421

How it works
Option 1: At the Library
We’ll provide all of the fabric supplies, tools, and guide you through our easy pet bed instructions.
You can also bring your own clean fabric supplies.
Option 2: At Home
- Follow our easy instructions to prepare your own fleece.
- Then assemble your pet bed.
- Bring your completed pet bed to the Columbia Heights Public Library by February 8, 2025.
HeightsNEXT is not a pet rescue service. All of the pet beds you make are donated to Midwest Animal Rescue & Services (MARS) of Minneapolis.
Donate your unwanted fabric year-round!
HeightsNEXT accepts donations of clean polar fleece fabric and flannel sheets, thick blankets, old sweatshirts, fabric scraps, etc. Just contact us to arrange a drop-off time and location.
