Fire and Ice Plunge

Each winter, several community organizations host this silly fundraiser where sponsored jumpers leap into the frozen Silver Lake! Cheering onlookers enjoy music, hot food, and beer. All funds benefit SACA, our local food shelf and community assistance program.

At this Zeros Waste event, HeightsNEXT volunteers are “garbage guards” directing recycling and compost to their proper bins. This simple assistance teaches people that not all garbage needs to go in a landfill.
